The landscape
The 60-km Kattegat coast from Hundested to Helsingør not only has some of the best bathing beaches of Zealand, it can also offer a very hilly landscape with steep cliffs, robust plantations and interesting beach forests. At the end of the bay Sejerøbugten – the area between Sjællands Odde and Røsnæs in the north-western part of Zealand – the landscape is characterised by a large heather area that is also an area with many holiday homes. The area is inviting, idyllic and typical of the north-western part of Zealand with rich variation between meadows, forests and fields. The area has amazing panoramic views of the bay Sejerøbugten. The south of Zealand offers scenic areas with lovely beaches and a slightly hilly landscape.
Beaches
The stretch of coast is long and there is room for everyone, and the beaches on Zealand are the perfect paradise for children, with shallow water and fine-grade white sand that encourages to building sand castles at the water’s edge.
Gudmindrup Beach, Højby
Gudmindrup Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the bay Sejerøbugten. It is child-friendly and has very shallow water and good parking possibilities.
Hornbæk Beach
Hornbæk Beach is the largest and most visited beach. This is primarily due to the beach’s good quality – few rocks, fine-grade sand and good water quality. The beach is manned with 2 lifeguard posts.

Roskilde Cathedral

Copenhagen

Stevns Cliff
Stevns Cliff is a steep coast cliff that extends over 12 kilometres from Bøgeskov Harbour in the north to Rødvig Harbour in the south. The cliff is up to 40 metres high and is made of 65 million years of layers with whitish-grey lime, white chalk and flint.
