Gastronomic characteristics of Corfu
Olive oil, onion, garlic and pepper are the basic elements of almost every recipe and greenery is never absent. Fresh salads as e.g. roka and glistrida, together with the locally produced mellow and lightly flavoured wine are a traditional meal. The blossom-honey with its delicate taste can be found almost everywhere in Corfu as the humidity, the flowers and the bees are the major factors in its production. The climate of Corfu
Corfu is an island particularly suitable for holidays all round the year. The winter is mild with relatively high temperatures about 5-14° and approx. 4,5 hours daily sunlight. From the end of March until end of November it has nice warm temperatures. During the summer months the daytime temperatures are on average around 31° C, and the spring and autumn are very pleasant warm around 20° C. In the summer the sun shines eleven to twelve hours per day.
