Pisa

Pisa is located on the banks on the river Arno in Tuscany and has many interesting places to visit as e.g. Piazza of Miracles, one of the world’s most beautiful squares, the cathedral, the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, interesting museums as well as one of the oldest botanical gardens of Europe.
The 16th-17th June every year Pisa celebrates the patron saint of the city, San Ranieri with a medieval festival. The water in the Arno River becomes illuminated with the sparkling points of light and the annual historical boat race takes place, in which four boats representing the four quarters of the city race each other 1500 metres along the Arno River.
Pisa is situated close to the beautiful Chianti wine area and only few kilometers from the wide beaches at Versilia, where the Arno River meets the ocean and makes the combination of a city and beach holiday in Tuscany possible.
