Santa Susanna is situated on the Mediterranean shores of the Costa del Maresme. A range of sports are available here, including sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, water skiing and kite surfing. In addition, there is also a range of options at the Montnegre-Corredor Nature Reserve. You can also hike in the Natural reserves of Montaña de Montserrat and in St Llorenç. There are several Golf clubs in the area.
Gastronomic characteristics of El Maresme
With traditional styles as the basis, a modern, innovative cuisine has been developed, identified by the use of quality products and by the creativity of its chefs. A tasty sample of Catalan’s best are the following dishes: arroz negro (rice made with squid's ink), escudella (typical soup), suquet (fish with potatoes) and as a dessert crema catalana. Very classic of Catalonia is also the pan con tumaca (bread with tomato, olive oil, garlic and salt), together with different sorts sausages.
The climate of El Maresme
The Costa del Maresme enjoys a mild, temperate climate. Summers are dry and precipitations scarce.
