Strongili is a small traditional village tucked in the hillside looking across the lush green valley towards the traditional villages of Agios Mattheos and Ano Garounas.
However Strongili is distinguished from other villages on the island due to the fact that the well-known Corfiot poet Gerasimos Markoras (1826-1911) lived and wrote many of his poems in this house.
It is warm and welcoming house with a “family room” kitchen / dining / living room with magnificent wooden dining table, well-equipped kitchen and fireplace in the small living area on the right corner. Walk through into a more formal living room with desk and sofa bed, the shower room and toilet.
An internal wooden staircase leads to the mezzanine bedroom with a double bed and a wardrobe.
Just opposite is the garden with fruit-bearing trees and flowers where the guests can relax and enjoy their coffee on the sun beds
The colours in the house are bright, especially the varying shades of red in combination with the dark wooden furniture and wooden ceiling, creating a feeling of harmony and wonderfully cozy atmosphere.
