Two Bedroom First Floor Apartment San Gimignano

Pisa is a spacious apartment at Podere Montecuccheri, a working farm situated in a fantastic elevated position with beautiful views of the countryside all around. A perfectly placed swimming pool also enjoys a lovely panorama and there is plenty of space around the house to relax. The farm provides simple accommodation with a welcoming family atmosphere, and the friendly owners will gladly prepare evening meals on request using their own produce. Pisa is the perfect location for enjoying real Tuscan country life. 

Podere Montecuccheri, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, rests on a high plateau affording panoramic views of the splendid countryside which can be pleasantly explored on foot via the many country lanes. The farm which specialises in producing wine and olive oil, also has a varied assortment of animals including hens, ducks, sheep and cows, and you are welcome to watch or participate in farming activities.

The lovely swimming pool (12m x 6m) set into the side of a hill, enjoys the most fantastic panorama and surrounding the farmhouse there are shady spots with tables and chairs perfectly placed for dining al fresco either by the pool, under a splendid acacia tree, or under a leafy pergola. 

At Montecuccheri there are two houses. One is divided into three apartments, No 43 Pisa described here, No 44 Verona and the owner’s apartment, and the other is made up of No 45 Catania and the farm’s dining room. The gardens surrounding them abound in flowers and trees and there is lots of space for relaxing outside and for children to play. 

Pisa, on the first floor of the farmhouse is simply and comfortably furnished with most of its windows enjoying lovely views of the countryside. The farms owners Giovanni and Sonia are very welcoming and helpful and create a lovely family atmosphere. Their farm produce is available for purchase and Sonia, an excellent cook, is happy to prepare a genuine Tuscan dinner for you on request.

Parking is in the grounds close to the apartment, there is a washing machine for guests use (2 washes per week are included in the rental price, any extra are payable locally) and barbecue.

Less than 4km down the road is the town of Poggibonsi with its supermarkets, shops and road and rail links to Florence and Siena making Tuscany’s major sights easily accessible. It is 14km to the medieval town of San Gimignano with its historic monuments and many local craft shops, and close to Montecuccheri there are various places of historic interest to visit such as the Fountain of the Fairies and the 14th century Basilica and Monastery of San Lucchese as well as the medieval quarter of Colle di Val d’Elsa.

Please note, this is simple farm accommodation, therefore suitable for those seeking basic amenities and real country surroundings. It is not suitable for persons seeking a high standard recently renovated properties or modern facilities.
